Production Operative

Duties include but not limited to:

  • Handling timber for manufacturing using woodwork machinery
  • Operate a variety of hand and power tools
  • Operate machinery and equipment to produce timber frame components according to technical drawings and specifications
  • Maintain and clean machinery and equipment to ensure safety and optimal performance
  • Cut timber to size and angle as required & keep cutting waste to a minimum
  • Read and correctly follow production drawings
  • Assemble timber frames using hand and power tools, and ensure that all joints are accurate and secure
  • Follow all safety procedures on the job site and report violations immediately to management.
  • Load and unload materials to and from trucks both manually and with the use of equipment
  • Working in a team to complete the construction of timber frame wall panels, floor cassettes and roofs, meet targets and ensure project are completed on time
  • Support other team members where required
  • Additional duties based on need and experience

Person Specification

  • Manual Handling

We are looking for someone:

  • Previous experience in timber frame manufacturing or a related field would be an advantage
  • Experience with hand and power tools used in timber frame manufacturing
  • Who has a passion for delivering high quality work with excellent attention to detail
  • Who can work on their own initiative but can also take instruction
  • A good communicator who can work well as part of a team
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Able to use initiative and solve problems
  • Good understanding of Health & Safety requirements especially machinery safety
  • An excellent standard of English both written and spoken required

Fork Lift Operator

Duties include but not limited to:

  • Driving forklifts, loading/unloading vehicles and operating within busy warehouse storage facility.
  • Locating and moving stock of products to pallets or crates for storage or shipment
  • Inspect and maintain equipment, reporting any faults or wear and tear
  • Booking stock in on computer system
  • Follow company policies and procedures from an operational and health and safety perspective.
  • Dealing with other requests to support the operation of the factory as and when required.
  • Ensure smooth running of in-house warehouse at all times, ensuring cleanliness, and adherence to health and safety standards.
  • Keep updated records of inventory and activity logs

Person Specification

  • Have a valid Manual Handling Certificate
  • Have a valid Forklift License (Required)
  • Be able to conduct all work through the English Language
  • Applicants must be able to get to and from work at designated start times
